Today I Started On Primitive Halloween Dresses

These little primitive Halloween dresses are so much fun to make.  They are well loved by many, each year on Ebay the Halloween enthusiasts snap them up as fast as I can make them, I've shipped them all over the world, Canada, Germany, Australia just to name a few.

Now, if any of you have purchased one of my primitive little dresses, you will know and can recognize the quality.  There are a few extra steps I take to insure my creations a different from the copy cats out there.  There are a few of my secrets that are on the originals and weren't shared with anyone...It's just a shame that people can't come up with their own ideas and have to try to reproduce mine, but I guess I should take that as a compliment.  In fact since there are so many coping them, I'm just going to throw in the towel and put out a pattern for them so at least they can get it right.

Well, off and running again, time to get busy, so until later...

Have a blessed day,
Vicki

So Are You Wondering What Happens In January At Oak Ridge Prims

When January rolls around I start getting excited.  Yes, it's true I start working on Primitive Halloween creations.. People ask all the time "how long does it take you to get ready for this show" and I reply, "I've been working on Halloween since January", they usually look at me like I'm nuts.

Well, here's the proof...I started doing my Primitive Spell Books today.  One of my favorites, you never know what they will look like, each one takes on it's own character with each pinch of the material.

Two down and one hundred to go, oh it's going to be a fun year, I have so many ideas running wild in my head, too bad I can't wave my magic wand and they would all be lined up, waiting for their new owners.

I can't tell you how many times during the course of my travels, I get told you must be a Witch, I just smile and leave it up to the imagination....After all that's what it's all about, and it can take you any where....

Surfin' Blogspot Oh My, Isn't She Wonderful

Well, I'm off and surfin Blogspot.  I started with Pam Garcia of Soft In The Head what an amazing artist, she kept me captivated for over an hour.  Her creativity inspires me so.  I entered her give away and I can't wait for her creation to arrive in the mail.  Ah, maybe I'm jumping the gun, maybe not, it's always a treat to dream.

She always has something interesting to say, and posts wonderful eye candy for all of us to admire.  As I read her posts, I'm amazed how much prim artists have in common, where we get our inspiration from, our roots, the sense of humor we look at the world with, our drive to learn and explore... I really think we were all related in a past life.

I must get busy, but before I go, I have to post one of Soft In The Head's creations to share with you all.  Isn't this little guy amazing.  What Talent!!!!! Pam, you've cured me of my mouse phobia...Thanks

Believing That's What It's All About

PrImITiVe ChRisTmAs YulE DiRty SaNta BoOts w/Peronalized LeTteR FroM SaNta

The holidays are about enchanting the children, giving them the power to believe, what a way to reinforce that Santa was really there..

These boots are way tooooo cute, they have a personalized letter from Santa, of course confirming he was there.

The boots are slightly dirty (well, not really they have a light coat of cinnamon on them).

They are approximately 11" tall and 9" long, just the right size to tuck under the tree or leave at the door or by the fireplace...The Letter is a little dirty also.

I have them listed on Esty right now, take a sneak peek.

Well, I'm off and running.

It's been a journey, every year I spend most of the summer sketching my designs on what ever piece of paper I can find, lunch bags, old mail, envelopes, you name it, there is probably some idea sketched on it somewhere.  I find myself coming up with ideas when I don't have a tablet on hand. So guess what, I spend most of the fall gathering up a ton of reused paper and try to make sense of it all.

NOTICE THE TRAP DOOR

Needless to say, the design for these Little Primitive Night Before Christmas Pajamas/dresses came to me while I was at Princeton, Wi. (No paper of course) What a beautiful Amish community, I swear it's magical there, it can be raining a mile down the road and the park is bone dry, the sun seems to shine there no matter whats going on around it.

There's more pictures on Ebay if you'd like to take a closer look.  I Think they came out cute as a button. Check out Girls Pajamas on Ebay click on either one of these links Ebay Boys Pajamas

Well, time to get back to work.

By the way, someone once said to me, "you don't work", ah excuse me, from January to Dec I put in about 60 hours a week doing what I enjoy most, creating :)  Woo Hoooo Lucky me!!!  I am so grateful to be able to do what I love.
Until we meet again,
Blessings,
Vicki

Only a few weeks and Halloween will have come and gone, fall is my favorite time of the year and we've skipped right over it, the leaves were so bright and beautiful just a few days ago, and over night they are all on the ground.  Bare trees, ah, a sign winter is on it's way.  You know what that means, it's time to get kickin on Ebay.

Last week was my first week of listing on Ebay for the Christmas season and everything sold, Yeppie!!!!!  My all time favorite creation is this little PrImITiVe ChRisTmAs GrunGy SaNta SuiT CloAk WaLL HaNg CinNaMon ScenTed DreSS. You can see the full listing at http://www.ebay.com/itm/180739959282?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_5387wt_916 .  Wow, that was a mouth full.
